Guest Blog: Jordan - Back from Africa!

the women

Jordan is a recent graduate of Belmont University and directs fashionABLE's Retail Operations. She recently got back from visiting our headquarters in Ethiopia.

After working with fashionABLE for 2 years, I had the opportunity to go to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia a few weeks ago. While I was there, I got to spend time with the girls who work for fashionABLE, as well as work on new product development (we've got some fun stuff on the way!!). I could talk about my time there for days and days, so I had to work extra hard to narrow it down… Here are my top 5 favorite moments of the trip: 1. We arrived to the cheering and clapping of all of the women & men who work for us at fashionABLE… It was sweet, overwhelming, and absolutely surreal to finally be able to meet everyone face to face.

4. Traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremonies… They're the bomb. They roast, grind, and brew the coffee right in front of you, and then once they start serving the coffee, they just keep it coming! This one was in celebration of some new part time workers who were helping with the spring samples. fashionABLE Jordan 4 5. One of my favorite moments was sitting with Genet and laughing with her as she taught me how to spin the thread for the fashionABLE scarves. She and the rest of the girls are so full of joy, and so proud of their jobs.
