Public Relations Manager

The Public Relations Manager is responsible for media relations and customer engagement campaigns while supporting sales and marketing efforts with the objective of increasing brand awareness and growing our loyal customer base to generate revenue through increased sales.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates and executes a communications plan that outlines strategy, tactics, and success metrics for communications and brand campaign efforts to advance the organization’s strategic objectives and mission while attracting and retaining customers  
  • Drives engagement by identifying target audiences and determining how to best reach them
  • Develop and strategize creative partnerships and alliances that generates buzz with existing customers and builds brand awareness with potential customers
  • Analyzes campaign performance to determine if objectives were met and identify any insights or optimizations that can be utilized for future campaigns
  • Cultivate and leverage relationships with media, locally and nationally
  • Proactively, strategically, and creatively identify develop, and share news to secure earned media coverage
  • Develop content based on strategic PR plan including press releases, media advisories, pitches, and other press materials to be used across a variety of communications channels
  • Maintain database of media including social, newspaper, magazine, television and radio
  • Maintain a PR event, campaign and editorial calendar

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of public relations
  • Existing local and national media relationships required
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to write for various communications channels
  • Demonstrated success developing and securing media coverage
  • Attention to detail and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and work collaboratively
  • Creative, energetic, compassionate, and highly mission driven
  • Experience with disruptive marketing a plus
